From the weekend!

Things I learned this weekend:

  • Walking in a parade is a lot harder than it looks
  • Sammi's giggles, though far between, are totally worth it
  • Emma likes to wear swim shoes in the bathtub
  • I can run a lot farther than I ever dreamed I could
  • I need new shoes (running shoes, although I would love any new shoes equally!)
  • When running you have a lot of time to listen to your inner voice and talk with God
  • My navy blue sports bra is trash
  • One of the hardest parts of running is getting up on the curb
  • 7 miles is not as bad as it sounds
  • I cry over just about anything these days (Thanks Cheryl for the newsletter)
  • Forgiveness is freeing

I love my life. I hope you are all blessed with that happiness! Now go run!

June 26

I didn't take these today but figured I would post them anyways. We had a busy day with a shot appt., a playdate and trip to the store. Running tonight went pretty good. It cooled off a lot so that was nice.

I don't know why these didn't post with the last one but it was easier to just make another than to try and add them in. Maybe my pics are too big cuz there are just four on here too and that still leaves three missing. Oh well. the one with me in it I obviously didn't take, Dave likes my camera too. He took all of them after Emma cooking. Emma was helping me make meatballs tonight. She actually does a pretty good job. Seconds after the smiling pic of Sammi in the pool the floatie popped and scared all of us! Dave is sad he didn't get that picture.

So I didn't think running would go very well today. I started off really flat footed. But I got over it and ran the entire 3 miles! Yay! I even finished on the biggest hill in my route, which I call the monster. I was sorting baby clothes today and tried a halloween hat on Sammi and Emma felt she had to try on her coat from last year. It was funny. Sammi looks like my little homegirl.

June 24

Today was a day of rest on the marathon training. All day I wanted to go run, or bike or something but I am supposed to rest. It is probably so addicting because it is a guilt free hour away from the kids. I spot some really pretty pictures of Emma during the day but since she screams and yells at me everytime I take her picture I can't get them. That poor kid just hates having her picture made. That is unless Samantha is getting her picture taken. Then Emma runs over says take my picture and proceeds to make faces at me or something else that makes it difficult to get a good picture of the two of them together. Sammi just stops smiling or doing whatever she was doing when she sees the camera. I think she is curious what the shiny thing is that keeps flashing light at her. One minute Sammi looks so much like Dave and the next it is all me.

June 23

Today we stayed up late to catch lightning bugs. Daddy and Emma put them in her bug catcher for a few minutes and then set them free. She had a lot of fun running around the yard in her pj's. Today was cross training day for the marathon and I broke my bike out of the garage for the first time in about 6 years. Last time I rode I had a bike wreck and Dave took it away from me. I rode it around for about 30 minutes and man is that a lot harder than I remember. When we were kids we rode all day and thought it was fun. Now it is a lot of hard work. I rode up the big hill at the end of the street and was huffing and puffing and my legs were on fire! Well tomorrow I rest and we run 3 miles again on Wed. Wish me luck!

Here are the photos from today at my mom's house. My silly girls!

So the wedding yesterday went really well. I got a lot of great shots. Maybe I will be able to post some. Today I ran 4 miles, well, I went 4 miles. I didn't run the whole thing. But it was good, HOT! but good. I took pictures of the girls at my mom's house. All in all it was a good day. Emma doesn't like having her picture made so there will be a lot of Sammi. I shot these with window light again.

Ok, Thur. I took a bunch of pictures of the girls. They were all candids in my room, striped sheets, hawaiian pj's and all. But I love the light from my window in the morning and the expressions on their faces. So it was a successful photo a day, day. Yesterday I didn't take any pic's. I thought about it but couldn't decide what to shoot and ended up spending the evening in the pool with the girls and getting nothing done. Which is ok too. We had a blast. I also ran 3 miles. This weeks schedule was Wed- 3, Thur-3, Fri-3. I did 3 miles all three days but walked some on Wed, and Thur. Friday I ran the enitre 3 miles! Yea me! It is the farthest I have ever run. Which is funny since I am trying to get up to 26.2 miles. You would think I should have run in the past, but no. I just decided I wanted to run a marathon before I turn 30. KC marathon is Oct. 18 and I turn 30 in Nov. So it will be close! My goal now for the marathon is to run, walk only the aid stations and finish. I think that is pretty good. Kelly is training with me and she freaked when I told her that there is a 6 hour time limit. But that is a 14 minute pace and last night Dave and I ran a 13 minute pace, so... Today I have to work so it is a rest day from running, but I will be shooting at a wedding all day. So I will be using my camera but won't have anything to post, the images will belong to the studio I work for.

Oh yeah, I posted some of the images from Thur. on the first post and will put some more on here.

So I have decided to start this blog to keep everyone up with my marathon training and the family. I am also going to do a photo a day to get my camera in my hands more. So I will be posting those as I go as well. I am sure most of them will be photos of the girls, but who knows, maybe I will branch out some. I am trying to think of a photo project to start. Something that I could turn into a coffee table book or something. Kelly is doing a bike's and bodies series right now of motorcycles and tattoos. She did a really cool series of air guitar pic's, too. So if anyone has any good ideas for me let me know.
